The front moves. The rear steps out. Your instinct says slow down and hold on tighter; which is usually exactly when you need to do the opposite. Stay loose, keep your inputs smooth and let the bike find its way through the terrain. It takes practice, but once you stop fighting every movement of the bike, loose terrain starts to feel a whole lot more manageable. That’s one of the best things about riding with a guide; you can work on it properly, in the right terrain and at a pace that builds confidence without taking the adventure out of it.
